World Environment Day Celebrated In Rohini Court - Connecting People to Nature

New Delhi : World Environment Day Is observed on 5 June every year through out  the world – WED is the largest annual event for protecting environment. 

World Environment Day was inaugurated in 1972 following the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm, Sweden on 5-June the first international conference on environmental issues.

Since its first celebration on 5 June 1974, millions of people across the world have taken part in thousands of events to raise awareness and generate political momentum around growing concerns such as the depletion of the ozone layer, toxic chemicals, desertification and global warming. 

It is also an opportunity to reflect on the health of the Earth, our common home, but also to actively promote a healthy co-existence among all its inhabitants.

The Day has developed into a global platform for taking action on urgent environmental issues, driving change in our consumption habits as well as influencing national and international policy.

Event in Rohini  court premises was jointly inaugurated by  Shri Dilbag Singh Punia District & Sessions Judge North District  and Shri Rajnish Bhatnagar District & Session Judge North-West District  Both District Judges Planted Trees as well along with other judicial officers , Litigants, RCBA Members

Shri Vidya Prakash PO MACT “ Nodal  officer environment committee Rohini Court lets protect  the environment its one of  the best initiative taken by Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Gita Mittal acting Chief Justice Delhi high court and we all are appreciating this efforts and  pledge we took today we must practice it ” .

WED  calls for action from people of different sections of the society to do something for the environment so that their collective efforts can have positive impact on the environment.

Shri Rajnish Bhatnagar District & Session Judge North-West District  “Degeneration of forest cover is reflecting  on the health of the Earth climate change resulting in delayed monsoon, snow melting in the Himalayas, glacial outburst and many others we must check this."

 Shri Dilbag Singh Punia District & Sessions Judge North District  "Its responsibility of every one , todays prevention will help young generation they are the most hit , many diseases are outcome of environment precaution is better than cure we must have action plan to fight and preserve the environment.”

Despite tall claims by various agencies the forests are still  depleting due to overexploitation by different mafias be that sand or wood 24% of area is under forests  ealier it was 40%  according to data available with the government

“ We must thanks Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Gita Mittal acting Chief Justice Delhi high court  who is guiding force behind  today’s environment day celebration in rohini court as well as other court and high court .This may seem like a small step towards achieving a big  goal; however this small step is  need for future growth and we must go paperless and use technology to preserve the nature ”

 Judicial officer`s Ms Seema Maini ASJ ,Ms Bimla Kumari ASJ, Shri Manu Rai Sethi ASJ ,Shri Manoj Jain ASJ-FTC , Shri Manmohan Sharma judge incharge mediation centre , Shri A.K.Mendirata Principal Judge Family Courts, Ms Swarna Kanta Sharma Principal Judge Family Courts North Rohini, Shri Devender Nain ACMM North West, Ms Sushil Bala Dagar MM- Mahila Court  seemed quite enthusiastic and excited  along with RCBA members , litigants , court staff ,Delhi police personnel .Enthusiam resulted in one more greener steps on world envornment day as  large number of tress were planted .
